Germany

'The most talked about film at the 2007 German Film Awards, Grave Decisions tells the story of 11-year-old Sebastian (Markus Krojer), an innocent boy who was cruelly blamed for his mother’s death during childbirth. He lives in fear at the idea that he will languish in Purgatory before being damned to hell. Sebastian makes a decision that, in order to save himself from Purgatory, he will help others by doing good deeds. Despite all his efforts to do good, including asking his dead mother’s advice, he only succeeds in making things worse. His accidental crimes are too numerous to count, but they include drowning the family cat and nearly killing a woman..
Finally, he uncovers a promising lead on his journey towards redemption, resolving to help his father find a new wife. Assured of his righteousness, he won’t let anything get in the way of his quest for a new stepmother…even her husband!

This is the first full length film by director Marcus H. Rosenmüller. Grave Decisions has taken numerous international film festivals by storm, winning awards which include Best Direction and Best Production at the Bavarian Film Festival and the German New Faces Award in the category of Director.'
